All I can say is, "And I'm Proud To Be An American, Where At Least I Know _____ Wears Yellow.....

I so want to see an American racer win tomorrow!

Well, I'm not gonna give away the winner of today's Bastille Day stage 12 of the tour, but I can tell you one thing:

It weren't no FRENCHMAN!... :lol: :yesnod: :8:

What an exciting stage today was! Stage 16..
Even if, well, you know..:( :cryin:
I have enjoyed Le Tour 06, there have been lots of lead changes and some EXCELLENT racing..
I do miss Lance, but I so love how things are happening...

Oh it was exciting alright, but what a disappointment for Landis routers. He just could not answer the bell in that final climb. Had some great riders up there in the hunt though. The rest of the race may be very exciting to watch. In years past Lance had a way of taking all the excitment out of the race once he hit the Alps.

Didn't say Lance wasn't t a thrill to watch climb. Just that he would build up such big leads that there was little doubt as to the final outcome.

Most definitely! There are no "sure things" in the mountains of the Tour (you need only look to today's stage for proof), so there was (for me, anyway) always that little bit of anxiety and anticipation with Lance and how he was going to perform.

Then, finally seeing him attack and explode up the mountian like a gazelle was awsome. It never got old. Kinda like a running back breaking through the line and out running the entire defense in football...

As for today's stage, I am in complete and utter shock!... :eek: :yikes: :shocked:

After Floyd Landis regained the lead of the Tour de France at the top of L'Alpe d'Huez he decided that he wanted a beer to celebrate the moment. On the road down to his hotel, his team car pulled over and the American traded a yellow jersey for a six-pack of beer with a spectator..

Without a doubt! He whopped their ass after having a flat tire in the first time trial and this time trial is suppoed to be even harder. Definately don't want to count the chickens before they hatch but things are looking pretty good after today's miracle ride he put on.

Just read that pro cycling team T-Mobile has fired former Tour de France winner (and many times runner-up to Lance) Jan Ullrich due to his alleged connection to the Spanish doping scandal that's been responsible for many big names not being in this year's race.

Seems they're demanding proof of his innocence, and have taken this drastic step without any hard evidence yet of who's done what. Oh, and they did it by FAXING the team manager with the news...

Boy, ain't that a twist from what we've come to expect "due process" to be?

I have never been much of a fan of Janny Boy...
Discovery doesn't need his drama!
So I feel it is about time!
His work ethic isn't all that great, in my opinion.
So maybe this will be a wake up call that he needs.

Wouldn't you be a little miffed that you were born at the same time that Lance Armstrong was? :D In the later years of Lance's run I always wanted to see a dual between them but it never really materialized. They both have such different styles of riding it was always kinda fun to watch.

Lance the dancing american on his bike and Jan the big german machine just grinding out his big gears.
