Do you believe in ghosts?

A thread in the digital cameras forum made me think this might be a good debate topic without getting into the passions of religion and politics.

I admit that there are strange and frequently un-explainable things, (so far), that happen but I do not believe in ghosts.

I never used to. But the older I get, the more I realize I don't know, and the more open I am to the possibility.

Two things I figure: 1) there's no harm in believing, and 2) I've never heard of "death by ghost" outside of horror movies, so there's nothing to be afraid of. It's actually kinda fun.

I would never take it farther than the "whimsical" point, though. I have no interest in paranormal investigations and such.

Looking at how much we do know, I would say not... But I also look at the other side (pun not intended) and look at how little we really know. Considering we know more about the moon than we do about some of the deepest parts of the ocean, it makes one realize how little we really do know.

When I think about that further, we can't even comprehend what we don't know because it is so unknown. So given that, I'd say virtually anything is possible.

I believe in ghosts based solely on the fact that we are just boogers in the universe. But having strange things happen to my family and me, some good and some bad, makes me a believer in ghosts. However I don’t believe in every ghost story, sometimes I hear a ufo story or a ghost story that they claim to be real and I find it so funny.
