    What’s your favourite pasttime(s)?

What do you usually do in your spare time?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be your favourite thing, but can also be what you do most often in your spare time. Feel free to discuss the different pasttimes.

I like to use my mtn bike(s) for stress management. It's a good work out and I spend my time thinking of whats on the trail to worry about anything else.

Most anything outdoors, often with the family.
Thi time of year it's CC skink. Summer, canoeing, hiking, in season hunting... All includes a camera of course.

    Re: What’s your favourite pasttime(s)?

I voted for all but 3.

Like Vance, anything outdoors is tops on my list. With the days getting shorter, I'm finally starting to make a dent in the stack of Outdoor Photographer Magazines I have sitting here that I haven't opened yet. They go back to Dec or 2006! I'm hoping to knock out 2/week till I'm all caught up. Then I can focus on the other books I have sitting here waiting for me. I love to read, just haven't made the time to do it!

I LOVE strapping on the snow shoes and breaking a trail in fresh snow! I think this is also going to be the year I try cross country skiing.

AMDA, you've left out the pastime that most males consider being their favourite thing to do ...

Religious thoughts have been banned from this site? ... so I'm guessing that this now ungodly site, does not discourage such thoughts.

    Salsa

Dancing in particular Salsa. I love it but I don't think I'm very gifted. I just failed the exam to get me out of the beginners class (Porto Rican style - I'm intermediate Cuban style). It's really a lot of effort:

    - 2 hours classes a week
    - at least three outings to nightclubs per week
    - a whole library of moves that we have done in class and that I have video's in one way or another
    - a network of friends and acquaintances to go out with, appear in the videos, etc.

It seems like Photography is much easier but I suppose I've been doing it for 35 years whereas I've only been doing the Salsa for 3 years.

Now this I want to see-please post some shots !

I guess my "other' hobby is cat rescue, mainly abandoned kittens left in storm drains,
-it often involves laying full length on the road,in the middle of the night, making strange mewing sounds-dangerous,dirty and if I'm successful, results in a few sleepless nights while the newbie settles into the pecking order.
And copious use of disinfectants on my floor.

Salsa and still photography do not go together. Even a point-and-shoot is too big to have on your body and I don't leave anything valuable in a bag because I'm out on the floor. I occasionally use a cell-phone camera but it's technically limited.

I shoot videos in order to learn a movement. My Fuji F40 point-and-shoot is perfect for this. After the course I wait outside (videos are forbidden within the school), grab a couple of participants, in 30 seconds it's done then back to the lab to cut and make a video that I can upload to my photo share site. But I can't share it with you - it stays between the people who were present.

Here's a picture a did at the Tempo Latina festival last year which is most representative for me.

    Tres cool,thanks for sharing.
I now understand why you have few photos to share-the videos are a nifty way to learn.

I had a mental picture of Mick Hucknall singing,"Perfect Love" juxtaposed with images from watching,"Come Dancing",with my parents !

I don't see my favorite pasttimes in the list

I mean, I can't believe that beetle collecting and field herping didn't make the short list :cryin:
