It turns out that the new hadron accelerator going online next year will be generating lots of "micro black holes" while searching for the elusive Higgs.

Really, if we're going to destroy ourselves, let's do it in grand fashion. Bombs, nuclear anhilation, mutant zombies running around afterward eating people's faces. Stuff like that. If they create a black hole, we would just suddenly die, and we wouldn't know why. That would be boring.
