    Olympics. You watching?

This is the first year i've actually watched, normally i don't pay much attention. but holy wow, some of the things these guys can do.

    favs so far?

all those women in the downhill skiing last night who got up and walked away after crashes that made me cringe from my couch

shaun white. i just love him.

that russian figure skating guy, who's name i would mangle if i tried to spell. he wore black, blonde hair. love his arrogance.

    anybody? whatcha think?

    Re: Olympics. You watching?

Missed a lot of it. The only events I've caught thus far were those I could care less about (Olympic hockey? Border-cross? pfff)

Men's moguls and women's downhill I'd have loved to see. Ditto on the figure skating. When's Men's downhill?

here's the schedule. we usually turn it on after dinner, and catch whatever's on. i've never watched them before, so we aren't looking for anything specific...

I used to get excited about seeing The Olympics.
It is just too commercial and Nationalistic for me to care anymore.

    Re: Olympics. You watching?

    Not watching.
I'm in the wrong time zone and they're not showing events live here.
Not often enough to be worth it.

Not that the outdoor events seem to be happening anyway.
Lots of news about what's been delayed and what isn't going to be shown.
Coverage of how much money they're having to refund on tickets.
    But precious little sport.

I can understand why the BBC is putting Olympic coverage on the web site and the digital "red button" service rather than regular programming.

We like watching snowboarding and skiing events. She likes the ice skating. I can't believe how some people mess up in seconds after waiting for this moment for years! It happens to the best I guess.

    Re: Olympics. You watching?

Been watching as much as I can. Love the skiing, snowboarding and speed skating events. Short track rocks! Could do without figure skating. There are a lot of other events that I would love to see that don't get much air time compared to all the figure skating. The downhill last night was great to watch as well as Shawn White in the half-pipe.

    Re: Olympics. You watching?

I watch what I can when I can. Hockey IS a Canadian tradition.....but honestly if it doesn't have an engine and wheels it's hard to get me interested.

What got me was the opening Ceremonies. From what I watched I learned that Canadians are a bunch of French speaking Native Indians and that light painting on the floor of an arena like that can look AWESOME. And this from a born and bred Canadian.

Moguls, speed skating, and anything with a snowboard are what I want to see.
