Wow, that is a rant. No offense taken here, as I feel anyone should be able to express their views. Not that I don't find anything wrong with some of what you say, mind you.Originally Posted by snaphappy

They were my justification for finding everything bad about Christianity and not becoming one. What I failed to do, however, was look at the people who were actually living Christian lives and espousing good conduct by their example. What I'm saying is, you can't judge religious values as worthless by focusing on people who claim to be religous and yet don't really live that way.
Secondly, as far as rights go, the founding fathers were only concerned with what they regarded as natural rights, not the right to do just about anything a man deems that he wants to do. If the latter were the case, hey, why not legalize pedophilia like the Romans did, or why not bestiality and every other perversion? The fact of the matter is, these things, like homosexuality, are not natural rights because they cross the lines of what is natural or naturally given by God to man. They debase society, weaken it, and lend only to the self-destructive principle of self-love, something of which Jefferson said would be the sure ruin of this country. So it is really an error to try and equate the homosexual issue with the race issue. They are worlds apart. But I understand that college is not always about giving you young folks the best education. Oftentimes it is a breeding ground for politically correct thinking, not to mention how to learn to despise religion and religious folks (and Christianity in particular) as evident by your parting shot.
By the way, I seriously doubt you are as moral as you think you are. I once had a very high view of myself, but of course I was comparing myself to the phony Christians. Anybody can compare themselves to hypocrites and look good. That's not difficult in the least.
