Obama throws and adhomien attack on Palin

Typical LIBERAL fashion, obama resorts to calling his equal Palin names....LOL..
But then why should this surprise anyone...After all this is coming from a baby killer who will lie and cheat to get the White house...

No he didn't though I will admit it is a backhanded simile(?)
Of course, pigs are probably smarter than pitt bulls which she compared hersefl to and both are God's creatures.
I did watch his interview with my favorite left leaning host and knew that one remark would over-ride any of the other things he said. Something more for the opposite side to jump on as if it will make a difference.
Obama does not lie or cheat any more and in my opinion less than Palin and McCain.

Did you learn about irony in English class this week and decide to try it out?

There are many other arguments worth considering.

I'm disappointed that Rove and Limbaugh's methods are the most prevalent of the day.

Find me a small government republican who can balance a budget and I'll consider voting for him.

Re: Obama throws and adhomien attack on Palin

I do find it strange that that you consistantly refer to Mr. Obama as a liar but I haven't seen any of the specifics to which you refer. And why, If Mr. Obama lies, is that not ok while it is ok for Mr. McCain to constantly tell blatant lies about Obama?

or should this be in the other thread.....I get so confused.

I think that accusations of Obama Barack being a typical liberal who flings ad homs is a tad undermined by reference to him as a "baby killer who will lie and cheat". No?

G, Normally I would agree with you. However, it is all about context here and there is no doubt that Obama new what he was saying as is evidenced by the crowd behind him..They paused to laugh at his joke because they all got it...I am also not the only one who sees it this way as Obama is getting major heat as he continues to fall in the polls....

As for Obama being a baby killer, what else do u call a person who lets a baby die after being alive and breathing for 30 minutes because he refuses to provide health care for this baby who would have lived?

Re: Obama throws and adhomien attack on Palin

In order for us to know the context of what Obama said, we'd have to hear the words he spoke before and after this old saying that's been around forever. Your video link did not give us any context. This is how I see it and I suspect I'm not the only one who is sick of Bush and the ways he's screwed up our country that interpreted it this way. The pig is Bush, and putting lipstick on him makes him McCain, but McCain is still Bush, no matter how he trys to pretend he's different.

It's okay that you don't like Obama. And it's okay that I don't like McCain. I can think of all kinds of personal reasons and I can pick on each little thing he says, but the reason I find so many of those things objective is because I already disagree with his policy stance on just about everything. Maybe your'e interpreting his comment a little differently because of your opinion on abortion rights?

As far as Palin is concerned, I gotta say, I can't think of any reason why we (and the media) would spend so much time talking about a VP candidate unless the Presidential candidate was lacking something.

I almost agree, but it the obama camp that keeps bringing palin up. It is the obama camp who have made palin his equal...

It is interesting that when the media was 95% on his side, he was happy as a clam, but now that it is only on his side 85% of the time, he is upset.

Well, I do agree that the Obama folks are spending too much time talking about her, but I don't think that's why she's getting so much attention. The attention started with the media's fascination with an unexpected and unusual candidate, which was understandable at first. But Obama is spending to much time trying to counter that when he really just needs to focus on McCain and ignore her. That will happen soon I think, but in the mean time, she's getting lots of free publicity, which is evident in the polls.

I can't argue that Obama has gotten more media attention over all, but I don't think that means they're on his side. I think they're just ratings driven and Obama is a phenomenon that gets ratings. I'm not saying that's fair. I have a lot of complaints about the media, but I really don't think they are liberally biased in general. I think it's all about ratings, and unfortunately, McCain is old news. We've been hearing about him for years, so there's not as much to say. But in some ways McCain has benefited from that. His so called "Maverick" image has gotten a free ride by the press. They should have been questioning that starting at the beginning of the campaign, because he hasn't been a "Maverick" since he lost in 2000. That's why the Dems are forced to repeatedly point out that he voted with Bush over 90% of the time.

I think a lot of the arguments we have are just silly, on both sides. We get emotional, we misunderstand each other, and we take things out of context. What all this really comes down to is the issues and I really wish the media would spend more time talking about that and less time talking about gossip and drama. In order for a democracy to function, the people need to know what's going on, and our media has been failing us in that regard for as long as I've been paying attention.

Javier .. I think you missed my irony somewhat. To accuse someone of ad hom attacks, and then to mount an ad hom attack yourself (indeed, a much harsher one) is more than a little hypocritical don't you think? Whether you believe it to be true or not is another matter entirely.

I almost completely agree, except that I do believe the media is pro obama. Now that the tables are turned, it seems they are upset..

    I agree 100%...

Lets take Obama's lipstick pig comment..When I ''first'' heard it, I thought the same as you folks...''It is just an old saying'' ''BUT'' that same day there was two liberal commentators who made similar comments on there blogs as well as another from the Obama camp and that sealed the Context to me...If it had been only Obamas comments, then I would have taken my initial thought and left it at that. BUT i believe it was a strategic blunder on Obamas side..

Obama doesn't tell liberal commentators what to write in their blogs. If you're an Obama supporter in this race, it's not hard to apply that old saying to what McCain is trying to do. It's a very common saying.

Obama has used it before saying, “I think that both General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker are capable people who have been given an impossible assignment. George Bush has given a mission to General Petraeus, and he has done his best to try to figure out how to put lipstick on a pig.”

Even McCain has used it, talking about the policies of none other than Hillary Clinton (gasp!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR8IhMMhe8w

Is everyone supposed to stop using this very applicable analogy because Mrs. Palin mentioned that she wears lipstick in her speech last week?

If you look at the real context of what Obama was saying in his speech, he had not even mentioned Palin at that point. He made that statement immediately after talking about McCain and how his claims of change are not true.

This is just another example of what happened throughout the RNC. Republicans spend their time and energy creating drama and attacking someone's character because they want the media and people like us distracted from their dismal record of the past 8 years. Unfortunately, it's an effective tactic.

This pretty much sums up the right wing media. They will say WHATEVER they need to, to win the election. Barack Obama didnt even mention Sara Palin during that part of his speech. Even the context was all about John McCain being just like George Bush!
Why is Sara Palin hiding from the media?? Are they afraid that she is waaaay to under qualified to be able to answer questions? Maybe she is just hiding behind her apron strings!

I saw that episode of the Daily Show when it aired. What a great clip. This is what I'm talking about when I complain about our media. It's really sad that some of the best journalism actually comes from a fake news show.

Is it just me.. Or do I see nothing unusual in both of those videos? I think people who are against him are just finding more reason to go against him, thus being at fault in themselves to the point they're trying to find him guilty of.

Where on earth is the cheating and lying accusations coming from? What examples and evidence can one cite of these examples in his actions as senator, to date?

Anyone in their right mind wouldn't let one little slip of the tongue affect who they voted for in an upcoming election. At least, I wouldn't... but I'm Canadian what do I know?
