Who's been hit with the stomach flu?

It nabbed me this past Friday. Got up for work at 5 am, and around 5:30 am as I was heading to Starbuck's I began to feel a bit nauseated. This went on and off all day, which wasn't very comfortable because we were doing some heavy rototilling of a lawn in front of a school and leveling out low spots.

I ate Peptol Bismol, max strength, for lunch. Didn't help at all. Rather, I slept for 20 minutes. A couple hours later I got off work not a minute too soon, headed off to Redlands to meet my wife to drive to Long Beach airport to pick up my daughter. My wife drove, I slept all the way. At the airport I slept some more, woke up, used the restroom (twice), came back to the car and threw up (in a bag which I had at the ready).

After picking up my daughter we left for home. Slept all the way. Got home, went straight to bed and slept all night. Woke up at 8, half hour later fell asleep till 11:30am. Vegged on the couch all day, complaining of cramps in my stomach which even to this very moment I'm still feeling.

Not a very pleasant way to spend the weekend, but I am on the mend. Haven't eaten anything solid since Thursday, except for tonight and I regret it. But I'll survive. Anybody else unfortunate enough to get the bug?

That sucks. Sorry to hear you've been sick. We've been lucky here but, Carla's sister and her kids all have it. Skyla has been wanting to go play with her cousin but, no way she's going over there until they're all better. Last thing Carla and I need is to get that. Hope you are able to get plenty of rest and back up on your feet soon

Sort of... I had many of the same symptoms you described last night, but we had just eaten at an authentic Mexican place. That place always gives me the "stomach flu".

Hey Ray sorry to hear about your sickness bud. We had something going around Phoenix before the holidays but everyone seems okay now. Make sure that bug of yours doesn't blow over the Mojave to us Get better soon.

I've been lucky & haven't gotten it. This time last year I was down with the Noro Virus. By far the worst experience I've had in my entire life.

Re: Who's been hit with the stomach flu?

Thanks folks, I am feeling better today with still just a tad of upset stomach but not enough to keep me from going to Disneyland with my wife and daughter and a couple church members for New Years. I kinda dislike theme parks in general but I was in the minority when it came to decide what to do this year.

Rick, I'll try my best not to breathe your way, hehe.

Re: Who's been hit with the stomach flu?

not to be bumping up an old post, but I just got over some serious flu, my oldest son brought it home from preschool and infected everyone. It was like an episode of king of the hill I saw where everyone was laying around and bill was taking care of them, too bad I don't have a drinking buddy named Bill.
