    bruising...more potassium?

So I bruise fairly easily. I also pay someone to fight with sticks with me. So needless to day, I'm pretty purple.

Someone told me if I up my potassium, I will not bruise so easily. Fact or myth, whatcha think?
    I sleep, but I don't rest.

    Re: bruising...more potassium?

Well, let's see - not enough potassium can give you cramps and "charley horses". Sometimes it helps to massage those out, but it might take firm pressure or even punching to make it go away. Punching leads to brusing, and all that happened because you didn't have a banana.

I have always been told that Iron supplements are also a help to prevent bruising.

    Re: bruising...more potassium?

Adina, I bruise very easily too, maybe something about WI? LOL I would get bruised even from being tickled as a child, highly upsetting to my dad. Nothing is wrong per doctors, I get all the right vitamins and such, when I get a shot, its beyond ugly. The stick thing could be a clue for you lol

    Re: bruising...more potassium?

You are prone to bruises which means you don't have enough potassium stored in your body. Banana is rich in potassium, I've read it in a medical article. Iron supplements can help as well. Take the right medications according to your physician. ;)
