IoT. Security Concern!

Hi guys!
Have you ever thought about IoT (internet of things) and its security level? For sure this topic will become extremely popular in technological environment within the next 10 years or even earlier! Its advantages are obvious but what about its security level? What do you think? I heard that there are loads of vulnerabilities in the system itself and in 5G networks too.

What a nice thread, Strantom!
Last month on the lesson of cyber security our lecturer discussed this issue with us! It didn't turn out to be flawless and has loads of vulnerabilities still. Mr Mcferguson gave us this article https://positive-tech.com/research/i...-iot-security/. It has the answers to all related questions :cool:

1. Go with a local alarm company. The national companies will nickel-and-dime you to death. A local company will use the exact same equipment and charge you less money.

2. Make sure you own the hardware.

3. Don't sign any contracts longer than one year. Don't fall for the "free alarm system" scam.

4. Decide if you want a cellular connection.

5. A good, basic system will have contacts on all exterior doors/windows and one or two strategically-located motion sensors. Unless you're in a high crime area, that will probably be fine. Extras (how much money do you want to spend?) include glass break detectors, video cameras, microphones, smartphone access, etc.
