How's everyone doing with writing their wedding vows?

I'm getting married in a month!!!
I waited until the last moment to write my vows! Lol. So today is my sit-down-and-get-it-done day. Didn't expect it to be so hard, it's probably the stress of the wedding but I'm struggling to get into the right head space to write something from the heart right now. Yikes. Future brides, learn from my mistake and don't wait until the last minute!
So anyone else writing their vows right now?

Re: How's everyone doing with writing their wedding vows?

We already wrote our vows and it was a perfect example of our relationship. We decided to write our vows separate then come together and use those ideas to write one vow set for both of us to say together (alternating) at the wedding. I spent a lot of time looking into vow examples that fit our beliefs and that fit who we were. I then changed some wording and then also made it more 'us' specific. About a month later we came together and sat down to discuss what we had come up with. WE WROTE THE SAME EXACT VOWS, almost word for word! We used the same websites as jumping off points, we changed the same wording to the same wording, we used the same examples. It was hilarious and absolutely perfect! Needless to say it was a fantastic experience!

Re: How's everyone doing with writing their wedding vows?

I started writing casual notes on mine a couple months before but actually put everything together the night before. My bridesmaids helped me get in the mood by finding some good music to play while I wrote. I looked up some guides and basically did a "vow sandwich" where I started with things I love about my S.O., which led into my promises/vows, and then ended with a little quote about love/some silly lines that tied into our mutual interests. Also check this list of traditional vows https://www.weddingforward.com/tradi...-wedding-vows/ Remember that you're writing to your S.O., don't worry so much about pleasing a crowd. Good luck!
