Where to buy cross country skis?

I want to buy some cross country skis, but I don't want to spend the money on new ones. There aren't any rental places near me either. I have been watching ebay, and Craigslist, but haven't had much luck. I'm 6' 1" and about 240 lbs so I need some long ones. Anyone have a good source of used XR skis in the 215 cm range? I couldn't find a good outlet for used gear on the web...

You're totally reading my mind. I haven't done it since I was a kid and really want to try it again. REI in Madison (near West Towne) rents, according to their website. Apparently Fontana does too, downtown. This place is even farther for you but I want to check it out when I get time - it's sort of near Waukesha. That one could be an expensive trip...

Thanks for the info Steve. Amy got a pair from my aunt last year and she loves them. We went out on Saturday, but I just can't keep up to her with my snowshoes. I was going to bid on a pair on ebay last light, but at the last second, they jumped in price to more than I wanted to spend. There was a used pair posted on the Madison Craig's list this morning that I emailed about. I'm really interested in them, but with the weather and the holiday's coming up, I don't know if/when I will be able to get up there to look at them.
