Newbie here

Hello, I wanted to post and thank you all for allowing me to join this forum. I am still finding my way around and hope this is where I post my introduction at
I am a grandmother and have been trying to take photos all my life. I luck up sometimes and get some good shots using the auto controls of my camera. I want to learn the manual settings and how to use them. I have tried reading about them but to me its like reading a foreign language. Maybe if I can use them slowly I can absorb what to use when and learn my way around the settings.
I am excited about meeting new friends in the photography world. The challenges look like they would be lots of fun and make me grab my camera more often and think outside the box more. Thanks again for this forum, I look forward to getting to know you all better

Hi Barb! Welcome to the forums.
We do have an introduction page in the Viewfinder forum but it isn't real obvious. Viewfinder is sort of the living room where we discuss photography in general.
I'll ask the mod to move the thread so it will get more attention.

Be sure to post some pics, ask some questions, and probably give some answers.

Welcome Barb. I think that you will find the advice on this site both friendly and knowledgable. I know that they help me tons.

Thw newbie post may be seen more if it were on the Viewfinder forum (sort of the social forum), but there is nothing wrong with starting here. I found it.
