    dog crap

    Just a quick vent.....

Since we got a dog, every dog in the neighborhood is crapping in my yard. I am out there cleaning up crap bigger than my dog. I know that's not from her.

Dh says I can't throw it at the neighbor's house, so he's going to have to mention to them that they need to get over here and do it themselves.

    Okay, that's all.

LOL!! Have you ever seen the Jim Carrey movie,"Me Myself and Irene"? He has the same problem and solves it with a simple solution.

    Re: dog crap

We have just the oposite problem, our dogs crap in the neighbors yard. Ok, I guess it's more of our neighbors problem. It doesn't happen very often, and we do try to pick it up when we see it happening. But the good news is, they just got a black lab puppy, so they won't know if it's our dogs or theirs.

My wife is in charge of cleaning it up at our house. If she finds them in the front yard, they end up in the street. On occasion, she throws them without looking, and most of the time, my truck is parked in front of the house. You should see her laugh when they stick to my window...

    Re: dog crap

We have a German Shepard and a Black Lab next door. Compare my 16 pound dog (we just had her weighed) to the 60-80 pound dogs next door. It's pretty apparent which poop is ours.

Top it off, our village has a leash law. The only dogs on the block on a leash is ours and the weiner dog next door. There's like 6 dogs that just wander around.

Did I mention when we got the dog, poop was supposed to be dh's job?

We got a German Shepherd too, and our poop meter has tripled since we got him. Our big 110lb. lab/shepherd mix doesn't even poop as much as our 1 yr. old, 60lb. German. Not only this, I keep finding cloth, rope, paper, plastic and everything else he can find to chew on, in his poop.

My problem is the neighborhood cats. They like to use the front yard as their litter box. I only like one of them, the rest I'm considering tagging with a paint ball gun on their butts.

Was it George Carlin that said you should put rubber bands in your dogs food, so the poop has little handles?

Do you think with rubber bands it would be easier to sling shot across the yard?

Depends on the age of the poop...or more precisely, the water content. But then once it has dried up, you have many options. I suppose if your dog is big enough you could feed it golf tees and just get out the clubs when you want to clean the yard.

dh was right to say that you shouldn't throw it at the neighbor's house. It's unsightly, and a waste of good dog poop. What you should do is put a sizeable amount under the hood of the neighbors car, preferably on the engine block. Smoosh it in some so it sticks. Then, when the neighbor drives off, and the engine heats up some.......

Bonus points if it's still cold enough where you live that the neighbor uses his car heater.

If you can't get under the hood, then you could stuff some up under the door handles.

Creativity is the key! Pretty soon, the neighbor will decide on his own to stop supplying you with ammunition.

Let us know how it all comes out. (groan)

Too Funny! Dh will love those!

And yes, still need the heaters here. Although today we are going to hit 50, yesterday it was 29. We usually don't officially have the heat off until about June, and sometimes that's pushing it.

Yeah, I hesitated to post, but then thought, hey, this is off topic. If we can talk religion, we can talk dog poop.

Besides, there has been some very useful info in this thread.

Well, my dog isn't, but the neighbor's dogs are! And dh golfs! Although I'm not sure he's going to want to use his expensive clubs for poop. Perhaps I could pick one up at a rummage sale. It could be the official poop club.

Ha! Poop club. That's what they're going to call us if we keep this thread going!

Why, oh why do you people put these ideas into my head. It gets all the voices shouting at once........

Ok, I know this is a preliminary work, but here's what I've come up with so far. (don't blame me, it was mjs' idea):

Now, I need some input from the club members. I need slogans, maybe a way to work the photography angle in, and any other suggestions you may have.

The voices are saying it's time for bed.

A friend of mine has a sure fire way of keeping cats and dogs off. He works in a zoo and spreads a little lion dung around the plants. He says nothing comes near his garden

You think that is bad. We have wild rabbits that like our tree and garden areas. You can imagine what the dogs smell when they come to our property....and the result of chasing smells.

We're on a half an acre, so that's a lot of cayenne pepper. While our dog respects that we'd like to keep it in one area, nobody else's does.

dogs won't poop where they think there is a water supply, so an plastic soda bottle half filled with water and placed on the lawn should do the trick. the dogs think they are able to drink it and so leave the lawn alone. don't ask me why it works it just does
