Where is dependable computer help? Photo-review of course

Hi Folks,
Back again with a computer question.
I just pulled out a stack of old CD-R Verbatim 74min 650MB,
They were created a few years back on my old setup using a HP CD Writer Plus.

Now when I attempt to read with my Acer DVD R/RW nothing shows up.
Properties indicates CD is FULL, but no files showing when opened.

What say you? Thanks for any and all suggestions.

CD and DVD media are unreliable no matter what the brand. Hard drives are almost a dime a dozen these days, store your images on a couple of backup drives.

I have my original images on the computer's hard drive, one backup on a portable USB-powered drive, and the second backup on a plug-in drive. Both backups are kept in separate places (one at school, one at home, the computer carried in my bag all over).

The only thing I can think off is that when you burned the disks a feature that enables adding files latter was enabled. AFAIK this could cause some drives not to read the disks later on.
You could try to read the disk on a different computer to see if it works.
