Russia has built the dad of all bombs that is 4 times more powerful than the US "Mother of all bombs".

So for those of you who think Russia has been sitting around twiddling their thumbs since 1992 and has no money for R&D of weapons and delivery systems.... think again. The US has kept a blind eye to the Bear too long and too many took the "their broke" line. Meanwhile Russia quietly designed new warships, aircraft, ballistic missles bombs and ground attack vehicles including a tank. Production has begun on the new tanks that are faster and tougher than the M1 Abrahms.

Add to it Putin has dissolved the Russian government so he can redesign it too. Back to communism? Who knows, time will tell, but whatever happens it obvious to anyone who watches military activity that the Cold War is back and the arms race is on, even though Russia claims there is no arms race

In military terms the race ends when one side defeats the other, so at this point the race is still on.
What bugs me about the report was the statement that this new bomb won't hurt the ecology"... uhhhh? All bombs hurt he ecology, it just won't make it radio active the next hundred years or more....

Well as it turns out the US is planning to move against Iran, or at least making serious threats to and they announced their own "new" bomb, a 14 ton "penetrator" thats designed to take underground bunkers.... completly, and leave a huge gapping hole in the ground. The 33,000 lb bomb is guided to it's target for more accuracy.

Isreal is also making noise about attacking Iran, this after a sortie into Syria that sent a message to Syria, Russia and N Korea that nuclear weapons will not be allowed in Syria as the IDF alledgedly bombed N Korean nukes stored in Syrian desert bunkers. Iran has continued to say they will use nuclear weapons on Isreal and Isreal has state they want to act if the US won't. Towards that end Isreal has withheld three newly built tankers that were meant for the US Air Force so they could use them in a potential attack on Iranian nuclear facilitiies. Isreal's problem is they do not have enough assets to carry out the large scale attack that would be required. as their are over 50 nuclear power plants and facilities that produce weapons grade material or test and R&D facilities not counting several universities where research is ongoing. And then they have to deal with the Iranian air force and surface to air systems. The Iranain air force also has numerous squadrons that fled Iraq during the two US ventures into Iraq as well as their own aircraft, most of which are outdated compared to the IDF forces but numbers are the key and the IDF needs to add fair to air fueling sytems in order to do anything unless the US, Iraq and or Saudi Arabia allows them to refuel at their bases and the later is probably a no.
