Cheney's aids censor global warming report
This kinda %$#@! really pisses me off.

<b>"Members of Vice President's Dick Cheney's staff censored congressional testimony by a top federal official on the health threats posed by global warming, a former Environmental Protection Agency official said today.

Several media outlets, including The Washington Post, reported at the time that Gerberding had planned to say that "CDC considers climate change a serious public health concern," among other passages.

"The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) and the Office of the Vice President (OVP) were seeking deletions to the CDC testimony," Burnett, a 31-year old Stanford-trained economist and a Democrat, wrote in response to an inquiry from Boxer's committee. "CEQ requested that I work with CDC to remove from the testimony any discussion of the human health consequences of climate change.""</b>

This should not come as a big surprise. The Bush administration is the most corrupt and deceitful in American history. They have censored stuff before, I posted another example last year. Too bad Obama is turning into a blatant opportunist: when McCain wins, the corruption will continue unabated.

I will be really glad when the Bush administration takes leave from Washington. This is the same stuff that apparently happened before the Iraq invasion - not only ignoring evidence to the contrary of predetermined beliefs, but covering it up.

The way I see it is the fact that I cannot live in some cities or even visit them because the smog is too high (i have really bad asthma) compared to how I used to be able to visit them 10 years ago without having a problem...that alone indicates there is a serious environmental issue going on and continuing to turn a blind eye to these related issues just adds to the death-clock. Soon it will get to the point where you have people dying in the street because they can't breathe or suffer massive heatstroke from global warming. That was what happened in Toronto last year, anyway.
