    Bye-bye Salt
I made this prediction last year or so when trans fats were legislated against in NYC. Guess what, representative Ortiz from Brooklyn has introduced a bill that would ban the use of salt in all NYC restaurants and bakeries. After all, salt is "bad for you." How stupid can people get? Let's hope it won't pass. Of course, I said the same thing about the silly trans fats ban.

Hope this doesn't get banned for being a political post.
Does he realize what that might do to the tourist trade.
Sure people can use too much salt but it isn't bad for you if you use it moderatly and we can't live without it.

Maybe if we keep it on diet, not politics.

"Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants." Everything else is hype and marketing.

I did not consider this political as it really doesn't have a particular party in mind. Both sides are equally capable of this nanny nonsense! If I am wrong, I apologize.

I know that too much salt is bad for me. But without salt, we would die! Many Roman soldiers were paid with salt instead of money because of its value. Too many people jump to "solutions" that are worse than the problem they purport to solve.

As Ron White is noted for saying, "You can't fix stupid."

Lot's of things are bad for you. Stepping in front of a moving bus is bad for you. Making it illegal doesn't help. People are going to do what they're going to do. Spending money removing the symptoms is not the same as solving the problem.
