Bush Kills Health Care for Poor Children

Bush, as promised, vetoed the bill that renews a program that provides health care for poor children. Enough Republicans licked his butt to make sure the veto can not be overturned. To be fair, many Republicans supported it.

Why did he do it? It costs too much!!! This after asking for $112 BILLION dollars more for the mindless mess in Iraq. After all, we need to spend more money to murder and main our young soldiers in the name of "pride."

Also "the private sector can do the job better." What a moron, the private sector does NOT do anything for the poor. What happens? We all pay very high insurance rates to support unpaid extremely expensive emergency room care.

Oh well, Bush has his health care, to hell with poor children. Typical.

Yep, our president is a real gem. Bush would prefer to break our country by spending our money killing people instead of saving people. He really has scruples.

Amazing how most Republicans reel at the slightest notion that our troups in Iraq may not be getting supported 100%. But American kids, eh screw 'em. There's no room for a Haliburton contract with those guys.

While I certainly agree that Bush should not be able to say that ANYTHING is too expensive while conducting this war, there is a second influence at work here as well. That being the cost of medical services and pharmaceuticals in the U.S. Talk about the lesser of two evils.......

The program gives coverage to parents who make too much to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to buy private insurance for their children. Critics have said their concern is that parents might be prompted to drop private coverage for their children to get cheaper coverage under the bill.
    They should consider important things.

Re: Bush Kills Health Care for Poor Children

I just read in the Time magazine that the war in Iraq is costing $500,000 per minute. That's 1/2 million dollars every minute. It's also been deemed that the amount spent on the war each day could pay for health care for 423,529 children. That is each and every day. In one month's time, that's over 12 million children that could have much needed health care. And now, the Bush Administration plans to increase it's 2008 budget for military operations abroad, an additional $50 billion. What a shame.

Its funny that our wonderful pres wants nothing to do with stem cell research because of the "could be" children, but then he does this crap!! It just doesnt make sense to me.
