Best commercially avaliable chocolate...

I say cadbury, hands down. What's your preference?

I'm a big fan of Toblerone.

I was in Switzerland 10 years ago and stopped in a small chocolate shop in Geneva. It was like stepping into heaven! I bought a box of assorted hand made chocolates and had them shipped home to my parents. My mom didn't go to the post office right away to pick them up so there were still a lot left by the time I got home. I think I ended up eating most of them. :)

It's all your fault Cara. I had to stop after work to pick up some chocolate. I got some Ghirardelli dark chocolate as well as the Toblerone. :)

The very best chocolate I ever savored was purchased in a small chocolate shop in Ushuaia, Argentina. I don't recall the name of the chocolate (it was in Spanish) but it blew away all the well-known brands.

There is a small place in Ft Wayne, IN that I went to when I lived there. I LOVE the chocolate there. I now order it on line and have it shipped. They are sooooo good.

The name of the store is DeBrands Chocolate. Ummmmm... Now I have to order some... Thanks.....

I've got to agree and go with Cadbury. And the best as far as I am concerned is Flake..I rarely see it down here in the US, though do occasionally catch it from time to time.

The other I like is the chocolate Cadbury fingers...

In the restaurant industry it is pretty common to hear Valhrona. I prefer Callebaut myself. Dark, of course. They're not grocery store chocolates but you should be able to find them without too much problem.

Milka and Kinder chocolate, but especially Milka. Unfortunately, as they are both from Germany, they are practically impossible to find where I live. When I am lucky enough to stumble upon some, it's rarely fresh. I miss my dad's yearly trips to Europe because he would always bring back some Milka for my brother and I.

Green & Black's, Leonidas, Lindt (dark), even P&J from the factory on the Flanders coast.
Anything except American chocolate is better than Cadbury's !
Hershey's is torture !

Next time we fly out to PMA, should we bring a suitcase of chocolate and you all come to the PMA conference ?

Green and Black's is good, but honestly I do like cadbury better. Maybe this is like someone who's mainly drank bottom shelf vodka thinking the top shelf is just okay, but the cheap stuff is better. :P

Lindt truffles do beat them all though :)

I have my doubts as to whether hershey's should legally be able to call itself chocolate. Yuck!

Too right!! Although the times I was in Europe I have to say pretty much all of the food and drinks (not sodas) were better than the American stuff. And I didn't just eat at nice restaurants, even the stuff from the grocery stores seemed better.
