    Fun!

I keep telling dh we need to move back to the city so we can use our bikes more. Everything here is a minimum of 15 miles away, his work being 25ish, and that's more than I can bike at this point.

Girls want to start biking to school, but we don't have locks yet, so I've been walking them.

Nice! Way to stick it to Big Oil and build your legs up at the same time.

I do hope you have a backup plan for when it rains?

    Re: my new ride...

    Hey Adina,
I actually live about 10 minutes outside downtown, so Im in Portland Metro... but the whole region is considered Portland... Im looking to move downtown this summer, at the latest next summer... depending on what I can find to buy.
Its amazing here. So youre getting a van? sweet!

Bri- its an 88 Grizzly! I was looking for a San Jose or a San Mateo, or a Surly 1x1, but couldnt find much out here. Im being cheap about it since its my first bike and I am sure Im going to thrash it I scooped this one up from a guy that bought it as a six'er converted it to seven, then down to a single freewheel.
Its so light... can pick it up in one hand and run with it!!!

Rick- Im all lower bod anyway from dancing so it will be a fun challenge.

Rick- When it rains? Its always raining here. haha.
My back up plan? the Mt. tires during yuck weather and road tires during good weather. hahaha.
Actually carting the kids in the 'rango when i have to, then parking it and commuting on the bike. i dont think i can manage three tandems...

I've seen some really cool umbrella hats for when it's raining. Probably would work if you get snow as well...

    Re: my new ride...

I wish mother nature would just let it rain from midnight till 4 AM in each time zone and be done with it already. I had a dive class today, hung up the gear, was about to pull it down since it dried, and got clobbered with 3 hours of storm. At least it's just going to get wet again on the dive tomorrow. Nice set of wheels! I'm going to drag out mine and foist my sorry butt on them tomorrow AM before the dive. Schools out and I have no more excuses.

    Enjoy the new toy.
