Macro lenses

Hi, I'm trying to find my way through the jungle of macro lenses. :mad2: What would you recommend, start of with a - let's say - 60 mm lens ?

My vote is always for the Nikon 105mm. I have owned it for some time and it never lets me down. And it's great with the extension tubes. check out these two threads as well.

I'd recommend you start out with something in the 90-105 range instead, maybe on the outside a 70mm f/2.8 EX Sigma macro. The short focal length lenses have very short working distances and so it's a bit of a pain to work with them for some stuff.

I agree with Old Timer and Deckcadet - start with a 105mm. Get the Nikon if you can afford it. If you can't Sigma makes a good 105mm macro.
