It's official, the Nikon D80 announcement has been made. I'll let deckcadet explain the new camera to you guys. But just to give a very basic explanation, it's a 10.2-megapixel digital SLR camera with the usual Nikon 1.5x digital crop factor. It looks like Nikon sped up start-up time and decreased shutter-lag as well as delivering a 3 fps frame rate. It also features a new Retouch menu which allows some image in-camera image editing. I'm sure Deckcadet will be able to give you a much more detailed explanation of the features and how the new camera fits into the Nikon SLR system and camera lineup.
The Nikon D80 digital SLR will be available in September and will cost just under $1000 for the body and about $1300 for the body with a newly announced new 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S IF-ED DX Nikkor Lens.
