    Nikon D40 problems
Hello. I have a Nikon D40 (<2 yrs) and it has started draining my battery after only a few dozen, or less, pictures. Sometimes when turned on even with a freshly charged battery, the camera will not take any pictures. I have purchased two new batteries, and that is not the problem.

any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like a repair shop problem.

The Lithium-Ion batteries in modern electronic equipment lose capacity after a few months of use, especially if they get hot, but if you've a new one that can't be the problem.

You might consider taking it to a local camera store and trying one of their batteries in it. Even if you have purchased new batteries and they were all charged with the same charger, it may be the problem and not the batteries, Jeff
