Re: Nikon DC3000 What Lens ?

Do you mean the D3000? I think it has an internal motor, so the af wouldn't be an issue, but beware, it's LOUD! I've spent some time playing with my dad's, and it's certainly able to get some nice results, but comparing it to the IQ from my nikkor 60mm...specifically the color reproduction, the Sigma got spanked. The reach you get with the 105mm is nice. If you're looking for something in the same price range as the Sigma, and you're attached to the 105mm length, I'd look into the Tamron 90mm 2.8.

The Nikon D3000 doesn't have a focussing motor so forget the Sigma 105mm Macro, the Tamron 90mm Macro, the older Nikon 60mm Macro...

Look at the latest Nikon AF-S 60mm Macro or Nikon AF-S 105mm Macro.

Hmm, I thought they had their own...the 60mm I'm referring to is the AF-S, so we're good with that one.
The Nikkor Micro 85mm VR that's been out for about a year now would be your best bet then, and is about the same price...maybe a touch more. The Nikkor 105mm is a beast, and has a price tag to match. I'm guessing that if you're looking at a Sigma, then you need something to fit a budget.
