    I have the Nikkor 50mm f1.8G lens and it's great. I really don't think it's worth it to spend the extra money on the F1.4 lens when it's only a few Fstops difference , and especially when it's nearly $200 more then the F1.8. My personal opinion is that the F1.8 is enough for what it is. So I say you go with the 1.8.

    its not a few f-stops difference, its one half stop difference. which is 50% more light. The 1.4 also is built to higher spec,. Though Nikons new AF-S model seems to be a solid bet.

    Either one. Probably the 1.4 since its not a whole lot more in Nikkor world.
