New Nikon Camera Releases

Can anyone confirm? I heard over the weekend from a group of people from a United Kingdom photo club (visiting Belgium) that Nikon was going to release 1 or 2 new cameras just before Christmas, now postponed to sometime in the new year 2009. They mentioned that the cameras will be 24 MP full frame digitals, probably with some other enhancements?

I know Sony has announced one.
