    Unhappy Nikon out of power....

Battery power that is! I can't find an EN-EL3 anywhere and the D200 eats them up so fast I got the verticle grip for more power but can't find another battery!!!!!!!

If anyone has a site out there where I can find/buy one, please let me know!

    Thanks,
    Wes

It is of course the EN-EL3e that you need, not the EN-EL3 which is only for the D100, D70, D70s, D50.

I bought two extra batteries at Phox on Boulevard Beaumarchais in Paris, but this is right in the heart of the pro zone and you can find just about anything down there. As you have the MB200, why don't you just stick 6 NiMh cells in it while you wait? (Remember to tell the camera that they are NiMh batteries).

When I first bought my MB200 I put the NiMh cells from my F100 in it. I didn't bother to recharge them before a big shoot and found that the D200 said there was not enough charge. I switched to my reserve EN-EL3e and did my 400 shots without it failing.

Now I use two EN-EL3e's in my MB200. I'm knocked out by how the camera tells me for each battery the % charge, the number of shots done and the age of the thing. This is really reassuring.

I called ritz and they told me they were out of stock. I even checked the local stores around where I live - nothing

I found one on Ebay that I could get from Hong Kong - but I think I will use Charles' suggestion and get the NiMH for the time being.

    thanks,

You might want to try some of the less well-known pro stores out there. B&H probably has a waiting list that's a mile long - and this is true of most new stuff in short supply including the D200 itself.

Places like Roberts Imaging in Indianapolis, KEH (better known for used gear), Canoga in California and possibly Calumet would be good ones to try - in that order, I'd say.

I was down Boulevard Beaumarchais again this morning after selling one of my D70 batteries to a friend for her D50. There is a small pile of D200 batteries in stock at Photo Cirque. They also have the D200 readily available and the Canon 30D.

Unfortunately they don't have the 18-200 VR which I've now had on order for a month with my local store. However as I've had to put back my holidays till June I can wait.
