Difference Between Nikon D and G Lenses?
At the risk of admitting that I don't know it all... :)

What is the difference between Nikon "D" and Nikon "G" lenses?

    Thanks!

Nikon D lenses, added a CPU chip to the lens that allows it to measure distance, to better assist the flash in what sort of power it needs to output.

Nikon G lenses have no manual aperture ring.
