    Nikon School

Well, my last question didn't generate any exitement (0 responses), so let me try again. I just signed up for the Nikon School "Introduction to Digital SLR Photography". I'm not new to photography, but have been out of any serious (if I was ever considered serious) stuff for a long time. My last good camera (a Pentax ME Super) quit working probably 10 years ago. It's been automatic 35mm and P&S digitals since then. So I figure I need to start over.

So, my question is, has anyone done these classes? The PDF they sent to prepare looks very good, and looks like it will cover just the things I want to learn/relearn.

I'd be excited if I got to go to one but I haven't.
Hope you get what you want and more from it.

    Re: Nikon School

I've been to three different Nikon Schools over the years. The first was in the mid 70's and I absorbed information and learned techniques that I still use today. Most recently I attended a digital school about 4 years ago and found the information very informative and helpful as I moved into the DSLR world. Can't imagine that you could go wrong attending one. Go with an open mind and ready to learn.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I go to the Nikon school in Paris from time to time. It's good. Most of the time the classes are given by the technicians who support the clients so they know what they're talking about.

    Re: Nikon School

I went to the fundamentals class 2 years ago. It was good, but an unexpected benefit was to be able to handle the different bodies with different lense combinations. The result was my purchase of the 18-200 VR lens.

Enjoy and don't forget to network. I met lots of interesting people during the lunch and learned about different clubs and instructors in the area as well as good non-nikon gear (bags, tripods, etc.)

    Have fun!
