Buying D700 (Shutter and sequence base were replaced) HELP PLEASE

I am about to pull the trigger on a Nikon D700 which has had the shutter and sequence base replaced recently by a local camera store. Is this a bad idea? Should I reconsider or should i give it the go?

Price is $500

Not many regular members left here on this forum, but I'll just say this, with a new shutter mechanism the D700 should be good to go. Will they give you a bit of a warranty ?
