Nikon N65 35mm

Hey everybody! My name is Daryl, and I'm probably the only person on this forum without a camera, albeit, I am getting one for Christmas. Which one? That's what I do not know. I am studying journalism, and thought for kicks it would be fun to have a decent film camera. I was looking at the Nikon N65, as it gets decent reviews. The question is, will this be an adequate camera to learn from? Like I said, it has to be pretty cheap, under $100 preferably. I'll start posting my pictures soon after Christmas, promise!

Plenty of options for inexpensive 35mm SLR's these days - especially if you look at used cameras. I don't know much about the N65 but it is one of their newer ones. If you're serious about it you might look for a used N80 which will have more options for manual control. This can be important to get the exact results you want on film - automatic modes can do a good job but don't know what results you want. This may be more than $100 but probably not by too much. Another option is an N8008s which has the features of the N80 except the flash. It's fairly old and don't plan on any repairs for it (due to cost) but should be well within your range. Good luck!
