D80?

I am currently wanting to upgrade from my S5IS to a good SLR I am in favor of the D 80 but what do you really get over a Canon XSI?

You should probably wait until after the Photokina show, Nikon is widely expected to release a new model to replace the D80 that will have a much more modern feature set. You would be wiser to compare this forthcoming model against the XSi.
