When I think of pigeons, I think of peace. But looks like when it comes to food, they're just as aggressive as anybody else. Here is one trying to get fed from a bird feeder. And it wasn't the only one trying. Their size alone made the chickadees get out of the way.
It reminds me of a busy buffet line - you know, when there is a small gap that forms in the line and someone decides that they can't wait in line like the rest of us and wait an extra minute or two.

AgingEyes, that is a very interesting image. I would never have thought they would come to a feeder - don't know why I would think they wouldn't - just me. I assume all the smaller birds were intimidated by his/hers presence.
What do you have in the feeder that it would come for?
"I thought that because fewer wolves meant more deer, that no wolves would mean hunters' paradise. But after seeing the green fire die, I sensed that neither the wolf nor the mountain agreed with such a view."

That was not my feeder and so I don't know what was in the feeder. Probably the usual bird feed I guess.
