The zoo
No, it's not my house, although some who know me think it's a zoo here :D
I got up this morning (before noon! ) and since it was going to be nice out I decided to go to the zoo. 13 years living in this area and I have never gone, and I hadn't taken a camera to a zoo before so I figured I'd have a little fun :)

Re: The zoo
Last one...this polar bear was really bored, and just kept doing the same thing over and over. Just before breaking the surface he'd exhale and blow some huge bubbles.

Re: The zoo
Donkey? I don't see a donkey here... I do see a Llama though :) Umm, this is normal activity for Llama's, horses, mules, and, oh yeah donkey's. But this fella has no upper teeth so you see his upper jaw and gum. The guy was basically sucking the wood instead of chewing it, and at times was just rubbing his gums on the wood.

Re: The zoo
Not too shabby for zoo images! I can tell your zoo is an older/ smaller one, which makes these images that much better!
The branch in the siberian? tiger image is a bummer, but I still love that image!
You did great with the caged eagle too!

Re: The zoo
Some really nive images, JS. I would have to try and clone that branch out of the tiger pic. Other than that, I think it's the strongest of the bunch. Love the one of the polar bear blowing bubbles.
Have been thinking about running to Louisville Zoo for a trip myself. May have to look at that even harder now.

Thanks Paul,
I couldn't get that lil ole kitty to move and something said going in and moving the branch wasn't a good plan :D
I was a bit disappointed in the trip overall, too many things were closed, and the place was a mess. Windows and glass on exhibits looked like they had not been cleaned in many years.
I was disapointed at first with the bald eagle shots. They have it in a cage that uses thick plastic and I was really figureing I couldn't get a usable shot at all, but it did come out OK.

Thank you srobb,
That crazy bear seemed to have a routine. None of the other bears were moving at all.

Hmm. That is a llama. I have an interesting Llama picture that I will have to share when I get back to my apartment.
