    Yellow Bellied Sap Sucker
Caught in the act of sucking Sap on Easter Sunday morning. Such beautiful light available for a few hours after sunrise. This little guy was shot form my backyard as he flitted from branch to branch sipping the dripping sap from the holes he created over the past few days. It noticed me at first but as long as I remained mostly motionless it ignored me for the most part.

He stands out nice, in the frist image. I've noticed, with most birds, if you can remain motionless for awhile, eventually they'll forget about you.

Thanks Mike. There's 3 of them that keep popping into that tree so I hope to improve on the shots in the near future. There's also a pair of Downy's as well for a little bit of variety.

Nice photographs! The 1st is also my favourite.

Maybe lying in wait nearby will yield even better shots?

Awesome! What that area for a cavity nest, they are pairing up right about now .
