    I've never seen such a shot. I would be worried that direct rays from the sun would damage the sensor similar to how it can damages our eyes?

    Lol - I didn't even think about that! And here I was sticking my eye in and out of the viewfinder to get the shot.

    Good question. I'm sure the sensors have an upper threshold limit of light/temperature beyond which permanent damage would ensue.

    I would definitely not try this with a mid-afternoon sun.:nono:
