    This IS Wildlife
A big, hairy, moth. Found it on our house, right by the front door. So I got out the N80, the Sigma 105mm macro, my SB-28, and my Bogen tripod. Shot on Reala.

That's one big honkin' moth, baby. Great detail on the bottom shot.

    Thank you!

I've been really pleased with the Sigma. It's a nice lens.

    Have a Merry Christmas!

    Beartiful markings.

Earlier this year I stumbled across this Luna moth. It has a bout a 4-5" wingspan. Luna moths don't have a mouth. They emerge from the cocoon and live for about a week. They only fly at night so you can approach them quite easily during the day and they won't flee. I wish I had my macro when I shot this.

    Thanks for the comments.

That's a really colorful moth, the Luna.

Well that shot was done with an Olympus C50Zoom, a P&S which doesn't really have much of a macro ability. I recently bought a DiMAGE Z6 which has a SuperMacro.

Moths are really interesting. Like a buttefly, their colors and patterns are quite intricate and unique. Some, I'd have to call downright beautiful.
