Weekend hike
This past Saturday afternoon, me and the president of the photo club I belong to went out on a hike. Even with the temps in the low 90's and the high humidity, what was supposed to be a short hike turned into a 3 hour hike. Here are the better ones I got.
This is Kevin - he was about to sneek up on something and this mayfly (I think) landed on his hand so I fired away with my 50mm and had to crop a bit to get this

Shot of a rabbit and a goose I tried to sneak up on - got somewhat close - one of the better animal shots I have taken so far - getting better!

Probably one of my favorite shots of the day here - Kevin was taking some shots of the field of them off to the left and I seen this bunch of 7 all facing the same way right on the trail, they seemed to be saying "take our picture!" - so I did

Re: Weekend hike
Looks like a pretty productive day Ben. What lake it this? I wish I had a local camera club to join. Nothing like that in my area. My favorites of these are the last image of the flowers, and the trail shot, but they are all very nice!

Re: Weekend hike
Nice variety and it sure looks like the two of you had plenty to see and shoot.
I believe that the blue/black insect is actually a damselfly species. I like that shot a lot.

Re: Weekend hike
Michael - I am not sure what lake it is - it is the same lake I posted from the root river park in milwaukee. We just ventured farther along the trails than I did the first day I was there. The 2nd part of this thread. http://forums.photographyreview.com/...ad.php?t=33969
I have been a member of our club since september (shortly after I got my D50). We are now in the midst of restructuring it since the founder no longer has time for it and it was on the verge of collapsing. We have since elected officials, started writing bylaws, and straightening out the mess.
I really like that last flower image and the trail one is cool too. I plan to make it there some more and take some of the other trails in the area. We did jump a deer along the trail, she just kind of walked off, not in any hurry. I didn't get any shots off at it but Kevin did, not sure if any turned out or not.
Loupey - Thanks! Yes we seen alot in the 3 hours we hiked. Took alot of shots, some decent some ehhhh. Played with the tubes some but the wind was not in my favor. He really likes that shot too, already asked for an 8x10 of it. Said it is probably one of the best shots of him he has ever seen. Not bad for just firing off a few shots as quick as I could, gotta love that 50mm
