    Waterfowl, pecker, waxwings and Big Baldy

    Another successful outing around the area C.A's today...
    Feel free to correct me if I get my ID's wrong here...

    Cormorant - I think.


    Mute Swans



    Female Buffleheads?


    Coot!-NOT! Pied-Billed Grebe?


    Red-Bellied Pecker


    Bohemian Waxwing


    And just as I thought about packing it in and moving to another C.A. - this guy flies RIGHT over my head:



    I was fortunate to have the 400mm on when the BE went overhead, I had NO time for adjustments. He's a little grainy as I wasn't set up perfectly, but I was happy to capture him as is.

    pied-billed grebe and those are actually male bufflehead in first winter plumage
