    Varied thrush

Today I saw this guy eating birdseed under a bush in my backyard. The shy bird then flew up on a tree close to where I was hiding, I barely had time to MF before he made a "beeline" to the neighbor's wooded yard.

Huh...poor you I must admit I'm definitely longing for spring now - at least the days are a lot longer now, 5pm and the sun is still shining And today I was out shooting without gloves for the first time ;)

    Hi Alex,
Cool looking bird, no pun intended.

It looks clowdy in the back ground, did you use a fill flash to get the light in the eye?

    Thanks for the comment, Bob.

No, I didn't use any flash. I did have the external (hot-shoe) one on my camera but turned it off as the thrush gets spooked easily.

    Re: Varied thrush

Maybe you should come up here then.

We regularily have 3 front yard "buddies" who together help each other in worm hunting:

    - Varied thrush.
    - American robin.
    - Northern flicker.
