I was at the top of a ancient volcano flow on the Aquarius Plateau and this Golden Eagle flew past this is the best shot I got of it I was so pissed I did not have the camera set up right and it was gone in the blink of an eye

That Zion photo looks super flat. Did you adjust the contrast a whole bunch to bring up shadow detail? I feel your pain on that eagle photo. I don't know if I've ever taken a good bird photo. It's not my thing and whenever I have an opportunity I'm not prepared.

Was this just a Southern Utah trip or were you in Salt Lake, too? You guys need to let me know if you're ever in Salt Lake so we can try to meet up for lunch or coffee :)

It was just southern utah, that part of Zion is so tricky to shoot. It was late in the day and a lot of shadows, If I go to Grand Teton again next year I may fly into Salt Lake and drive up form there.

Man I need to head out west someday!

NIce. I'd love to explore Bryce and Zion one day with just the backpack and camera..

Southern Utah is amazing. Zion is a hikers dream, Bryce also.
