    Two woodpeckers

Today was my first time seeing a pileated, didn't even know we had them here. This weather we've had this weekend is going to drive me to drink!

Thanks Paul and Bev. I hope it isn't another 38 years before I see one again, I REALLY want a good image of the Pileated now!

I've only seen them twice. Great job!

I'm envious of you. Been trying to get more images too!

    Thanks Loupey,

I'm always looking in the tree's as I'm driving along. I'm afraid that I'm going to drive off the road one of these days.

Very nice shots Paul. We get the downy and hairy woodpeckers here but I've never seen either of those.

These are fascinating birds. I've seen two or three over the years but never when I've had my camera. Nice capture.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Not all of us live in tree when we are at work Paul.

    Re: Two woodpeckers

    Actually....

Our "yard" is perfect habitat for wildlife. We easily have 2000 21' log lengths stacked and ready for delivery/ the mills. 1000's of yards of mulch/ wood chips and a huge pile of bad logs/ stumps ready to tubgrind into mulch .

I see the resident pair alot, but no way can I get close enough for an image without spending days to hunt down the nest hole in the spring
