    Grackles ?

    I'm pretty sure the black birds are Grackles, in the sun they have beautiful irridescent purple on the back & wings.
    But what's with the heads-up pose?
    Some kind of territorial display?

    The not black one is a female The boys are showing off to her.

    Edit-- Actually, no, maybe not, beak seems wrong on the not-black one. But the the smaller common grackles around me do this around females.
