Trumpeter swans

I had to adjust the exposure by up to 2 steps to retain detail in the feathers, hence the dark water.

Great captures, the lighting on the water looks really neat, and seeing the swans flapping their wings is a treat.

I love the 3rd one with the wings out but they're all good. Nice job!

nice shots,i'm reminded of see flocks of them when i lived in saskatchewan,they would migrate in that area and stop over for a week before heading south in the fall,they were huge flying over your head at about 50 feet.back then i had no camera,thanks for the memories, they are still on the endangered list right ?.

From the Wisconsin DNR website: Once considered for federal 'endangered' status, the Trumpeter is not officially listed as threatened or endangered. In the Midwest, however, it is actually more rare than the threatened Bald Eagle. It has no official state status in Midwestern states, except in Wisconsin, where it is listed as an endangered species, and in Michigan, where it is a threatened species.

well I know way back on the hunting guide book they provided a special phone number,for any individuals that spotted them to call their toll free number,so the canadian conservation could monitor the swans migration,not sure if they do that anymore or not,.thanks for sharing your pics and info.

Adjusting your exposure was great thinking, the water is secondary anyway. Very nice pics.

Mike, great images. Reminds me of last April when I found a few on ponds west of the city as they migrated north. Not sure when they migrate south, but maybe I will go out for look/see this week.
