Mule Deer in NY ?

I have seen alot of white tailed deer here in Mahopac NY, These are not white tails the ears are way to big, I am thinking thye are Mule deer but they are only in the west or am I wrong
He/She was hiding so I could not get a clear shot




This was taken in Cortlandt NY not far away from croton dam which is were the previous pictures were taken this is a whitetail

I believe it's a young white tail. It's coat still has faint spotting. It just hasn't grown into its ears yet. Mule deer have a black tipped tail, which this one doesn't.

And yes, Black Tails are only in the Western USA. Here's two shots of a doe I took in Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. Not my best of her but you can see the tail pretty clearly.

I have never heard of a mule deer ever being seen in NY and that is indeed a white tailed deer you have.
