Re: Survival Of The Fittest
Good Captures CF, did you actually witness the capture and the kill ?
Re: Survival Of The Fittest
Knight,
Thanks for the comments. Just the very end of the capture and certainly the kill. Try as the bee may, the spider had a grip that precluded any real defense. The pictures are backwards in that the spider had the bee on its back for the kill, then dragged it up along a branch of the bush.
Thanks again.

Re: Survival Of The Fittest
Cool. The first one much stronger. Do you have any other angles?
Isn't it amazing when you "bring yourself down" to their level? A life-and-death drama played out on a miniature stage every minute of the day.
Re: Survival Of The Fittest
Thanks, Loupey.
I had other angles but for one reason or another we not "postable", i.e., focus, DOF, exposier, etc. These two were the best of the lot. And you are correct, this was really dramatic. I saw the last moment of the capture; the bee hardly had a chance to put up a decent fight. On a similar but much sadder note, a neighborhood cat discovered my bird feeders a few days ago. I'd like to ring that cats neck.
Thanks again. I appreciate your comments very much.
