    more from the backyard

Well today proved a bit more productive as the birds are getting used to me showing up with camera in hand and they don't seem to mind much any more. The neighbor filled up their feeders and it brought them out in droves.

The robins were out in full force and I found thie elusive mockingbird which has moved into the area. He was imitating my Cardinal when I heard it and started tracking to find the cardinal. I found the correct singer but low and behold it was the mocker. He then switched to imitating a robin....followed by a sound which closely resembled someone wheeling their laundry on a squeeky clothesline. Then he turned to look at me as my cell phone rang in my pocket.. and sat there for 5 whole 3 shot bursts before flying off.

Both shots are full frame, ISO 200 F 9 and Manual focus.
