SPRING 2011 Bird ID
Hey Paul maybe it's time for Spring birds.First bird I think I post every year,it's a bird I like to see because I know it means there are many more warblers on their way. The nest is a huge crop I just wanted to show there are three little ones this year at Swartswood.

I wasn't sure about the Thrush but I had the rest. I was out on Old Mine Rd. I've seen people reporting having 22 different Warblers out there. I wonder if they are seeing them all or just hearing some of them. I might have seen a dozen maybe I just didn't go to the right places.

best place I find for images is the road to the camp area. park down near the bathroom and wall back up to old mine. also the camp sites to the left if looking at the river are quite good too... lots of hooded and only place I have seen wilson's.
Too many area to write about, but near the end of the road is a park (forgot the name) that's a good area too. from parkinglot go around the pond and head left. the open field always has blue winged and golden winged, usually see blackburnian, pine and a few others there too. least fly on the stream along the trail.

Re: SPRING 2011 Bird ID
went out Old Mine Rd. again today it was very quiet, not even a lot of singing going on. I did get this one down near Watergate not a very good shot but I think it is enough for an ID. It took nearly a half hour to get this shot.

Re: SPRING 2011 Bird ID
I've been logging several hundred miles of driving during the last two weeks to shoot as many warbler species as possible. This morning at work I get an email from the wife - with our P&S she photographed a warbler just outside our bedroom window. No wing bars, blue head, green back - I think its a Tennessee warbler. I've never seen, let alone photographed one myself  :)
Please confirm.

Didn't get any real good shots of this one. Best I can guess is female Hooded or a Wilson's Warbler?

Re: SPRING 2011 Bird ID
Thanks, Paul! Up till Saturday my warbler migration so far was a boatload of Yellow-rumps and one male Yellow. I was pretty excited to see this guy, just wish he would have stayed still in the open for a second so I could have gotten a good shot.
