Some Macros
I continue to aspire towards Loupey's greatness :) Though I'm settling for some mostly in focus cool teeny critters as I improve.
I've got tons of dragonflies and damselflies so I'll do a separate thread with those. Also with most of the butterflies... except for the Red Spotted Purple I snuck in here.
1. Hairy Flower Scarab Beetle. Neat little guys. You can't tell in this angle but these guys are very good bumblebee mimics.

2. Hoverfly. Love his abdomen pattern. The flower he's on was smaller than the tip of my pinky finger.

4.Spider of some sort

5. Another bug with a pretty pattern...

6. Flower Longhorn Beetle

7. Slug eating grass

8 Camel Cricket.

9. Bumblebee or Carpenter Bee

10 Leafhopper

15 Another little hoverfly

16 ??? I have no idea what this is. It looks more like a bee than a fly to me, but I'm clueless.

19 Some sort of metallic wood borer? If it was green I'd bee afraid it was an emerald ash borer, but this guy was blue-black.

I use the Canon f/4 300mm IS with a set of extension tubes. I usually stack my entire set of tubes and then use manual focus (three tubes stacked generally kills my af). Handheld or with a monopod.
Everything is in natural light. I don't own a macro flash or ring flash yet. (I want one though!).
